Kitiera is a second generation belly dancer and has studied Middle Eastern Dance since childhood. Her earliest formal training was with Phyllida (Lexington, KY).

Kitiera has lived on both US coasts and traveled extensively throughout the USA and Canada. She spent several years on the belly dance competitive circuits and has won numerous awards.

In Seattle, WA, in 2003, Kitiera founded her own Kitiera World Dance Company and began working professionally as a dance teacher and choreographer. She also began work on the concepts that would later be known as "ModRom Belly Dance," her own unique stylization of Middle Eastern Dance.

In 2006, Kitiera moved to the San Francisco Bay in order to study intensively with the legendary dance masters Suhaila and Jamila Salimpour. She is certified level 3 in Suhaila's format, and also holds a level 1 certificate in Jamila's JSBD certification program. Kitiera is a former member of Suhaila's Repertoire Ensemble and also was an instructor at the SSBD studio in Albany, CA.

Kitiera recently moved to Tracy, CA and is continuing her work and development on ModRom Belly Dance- touring and promoting her unique style worldwide. She enjoys directing the ModRom Dance Collective and teaching classes throughout the SF Bay area and the Central Valley.

In her spare time, Kitiera is a student of yoga, ballet, and Irish step dancing. She is also a writer, poet, painter, and musician.
